About me…

My name is Michaela Renā Spaulding (hence MRS, although I am also a Mrs), and I have always been a huge dreamer with big ideas I want to explore and not enough time to do it all. I have been diagnosed with PTSD, Panic Disorder, Depression and ADHD. Most of my life that I can recall (depression and trauma are weird and they rob you of a lot of things- including memories), I think of in stages of health and, well, chaos. I started this website to blog about the realities of mental health, share the tools I have learned in over 10 years of therapy, and occasionally I will probably write about whatever is on my recovering evangelical brain. I also sell custom merch and will link my latest retail therapy finds that gave me some serotonin.

The Vision

The MRS THERAPY GIRL vision is to stand with anyone who is struggling and remind them they are not alone. Whether you’re starting a therapy journey, have been going strong for years, or have any interest in the random theological reflections of a recovering-evangelical-turned-“progressive” this crazy endeavor is to create space to be honest about the crazy, difficult, and beautiful experience of it all. PLUS because I have big dreams, I also am in the process of creating a podcast with my husband who has a PhD in Theology and Ethics called Hard Questions Podcast where we answer hard questions about life, mental health (with mental health professional guests), and theology/morality. Occasionally you will also hear about our love for Disney, Universal, and Taylor Swift. It is a catch-all, but it will be so entertaining!
